Deborah De Groot, a Stylist and Creative Director with a passion for all things pink and sparkly, shared with us the must-haves to pack for a perfect summer.
Born in Florence in 1989 to Dutch parents and one of three triplets, Deborah De Groot is a Freelance Stylist & Creative Director with an unstoppable passion for all things pink and sparkly. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a ballerina, but today—with her keen eye for detail and unmistakable style—she effortlessly moves with creativity through the world of fashion. In this interview, she shares her favorite summer destinations, the tunes that capture the essence of her seaside moments, and the essentials to pack for a perfect summer.
Hi Deborah, where will you escape to this summer?
This summer, I’m heading to my beloved Forte dei Marmi, where I’ve spent all my summers and truly feel at home. I’m also planning two weeks in Greece, exploring Paros and Antiparos – it will be my first time in Greece!
Who and what will you bring with you?
In Forte, I’ll be at home with my whole family and my siblings (we’re triplets!). They now live in Amsterdam, but every summer we all get together in Forte to spend some time together. Even though we live in different cities, we are very close. In Greece, I’ll go with my boyfriend and some friends; he grew up in Athens, so I hope to have the perfect guide with me!
What are your dream destinations for a perfect summer getaway?
Anywhere with a beach, beautiful sea, and a nice little bar table for endless aperitifs – my favorite time of the day. For me, summer is definitely the best season of all.

What is your most precious summer memory?
All the summers spent in Forte with my family, the beach friends I meet every year, the bomboloni (i.e., pastries) bought on the beach, and the first evenings cycling to La Capannina.
If your summers had a playlist, which songs couldn’t you leave out?
Definitely “Sapore di Mare” by Gino Paoli, a few tracks from Festival Bar, “Torn” by Natalie Imbruglia, and “Gigi in Paradisco” by Dalida.
What are the essentials in your summer suitcase?
I always have mini sets in mind that I repeat in different forms. My suitcase will always include a colorful bikini with a pareo, a mini skirt (super mini), a mini dress, a maxi dress, a pair of sandals that I’ll wear all summer – no, I don’t wear heels! – and loads of accessories like maxi earrings and all kinds of bags (the more colorful, the better!).
