The new generation school girl

Today’s school girl is anything but someone who wears a boring old uniform, if anything she’s the most fashion forward one. For Autumn-Winter 2022/23, the school girl look was also the protagonist of many of the most prestigious designers’ collections on the catwalk. The creative director of Italian maison Tod’s, Walter Chiapponi, proposed an elegant spin on uniform attire. While keeping an essential focus on traditional Neapolitan tailoring in lady-like skirt suit sets and classic white button-up shirts accessorised by neck ties and collar bars. Sportmax also showcased suiting through blazers with oversized shoulders and cinched waist, paired with trousers and skirts in black and herringbone grey. Stealing the runway shows and our vote was the proposals of both Versace and Miu Miu. Each displayed a more playful, almost skimpy silhouette featuring mini low-riding skirts, oversized blazers and jackets in colourful tweed and plaid. Finishing touches included skinny scarves, leg warmers paired with ballerina shoes, chunky black boots, and chokers. This AW22 season, why not have fun and try a school girl-inspired look!
