Interview

Samara Wierer

Samara Wierer is a young student and content creator we met for TheCornerZine. Among other passions, she told us wha the must-have in her wardrobe is. Read her interview to find out more.

Hi Samara, tell us a bit about yourself and how your passion for fashion came about?

My name is Samara, I'm 23 years old and I've been living in Munich for three months now. I moved here for acedemic reasons. Before that I studied and worked for five years in Milan. I discovered my passion for fashion and lifestyle back in 2014. Instagram gave me the platform and opportunity to share this with other people.

Regardless of the season and occasion, bags complete every outfit and can really be the icing on the cake.

Are you a trend follower or do you prefer to create your own look regardless of what's going on in the fashion world?

Let's say I'm more of a trend follower, but that only goes so far. I let myself be inspired by them, but then I always try to personalise it in some way. I've so much fun experimenting with different trends and creating new looks to wear every day.

What's a trend this season that's driving you crazy?

One trend that's driving me crazy right now is probably bomber jackets. Either the oversized Prada ones, or the extra wide cropped ones like the models from Loewe and Versace wore.

What can't be missing from your wardrobe?

For me, the most important accessory is a beautiful handbag, which doesn't have to be a designer bag. But regardless of the season and occasion, bags complete every outfit and can really be the icing on the cake. An oversized black blazer is also a must. The blazer in combination with a pair of jeans for daytime. Or with smart trousers or, a skirt to create a more elegant look for the evening.

Can you tell us a typical day in your life?

My days aren't that different or particular than others, at least I think. I'm a student and therefore have the possibility to manage my time more freely. When I don't have classes or when I'm not in session I like to spend time with friends, I also try to use my free time to create new ideas and content for my personal account.

**From your lG, we noticed you're someone who particularly enjoys travelling. What's the most beautiful place you've been to and the place you plan to visit next? **

I love travelling. I get to know many beautiful places and new and valuable people, which I'm really grateful for. But in the end I always realise that the time I spend with friends and family are the most important thing for me. The most beautiful place I've been to I'd say was Tulum in Mexico. The city I plan to visit in the near future is Amsterdam.

What's your relationship with your followers? What was the nicest compliment you received from one of them?

It's not easy to maintain a personal relationship with my community. However, I do my best every day to answer questions, personal style requests or messages. What makes me super happy, in any case, is when people come up to me and say: 'Hey, you really inspired me' or 'I did this because you did that'.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I hope that in 10 years I'll be self-employed and able to follow my passion for fashion and the digital world. My industry is constantly evolving. I also imagine combining my knowledge of digital management with experience in the creative sector.
