Interview

Valentina Siragusa

We had the pleasure of meeting Valentina Siragusa on set. Between one shot and another, she told us a little about herself and the things she just can't give up.

Hi Valentina, you’re an established digital content creator. How did you start this job?

I started in 2009 by opening a personal blog, it was like a diary for me: I used to collect and cut out pictures, making a collage. The first event they called me for was Bulgari, where bloggers were the news of the moment. From there I started having a bit more 'fame', someone really started reading the blog, because before maybe only I read it. From there I started to understand what readers wanted, and that they were interested in what I was publishing. The style then changed, I evolved with Instagram and what the followers wanted. From 2009 to 2023, there was a big evolution.

I always draw inspiration from street style, especially when I travel to big cities like Berlin, New York, or Tokyo.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start this profession?

A lot has changed...those who want to pursue this career have to understand what they like, because what really matters is knowing what you want to do and fully convey it, without thinking about the business that’ll come later: you really have to let your personality show through.

Is there an item of clothing you’re particularly fond of and something you’d never wear?

I’m particularly fond of the classic white or black men’s overshirt. I wear it in the evening with a pair of boots and it makes me feel good, and during the day with jeans or a skirt. It's a garment I always have and keep on buying. On the other hand, what I’d never wear is one-shoulders, as they don't fit me well. I love them on other people, but they’re not for me.

Summer is almost here, do you prefer a one-piece swimsuit or a bikini?

If I had to choose between a one-piece swimsuit and a bikini, right now I’d pick the latter.

Where do you draw inspiration from when creating your looks?

I always draw inspiration from street style, especially when I travel to big cities like Berlin, New York, or Tokyo. I also look around a lot, on the web and in films: a film that always gives me inspiration and that I really like is 'The Tenenbaums' by Wes Anderson, I find it crazy.

Finish the sentence: Today I just can't be without....

Love.
