MARNI AW20 WOMEN’S COLLECTION

Francesco Risso, creative director of Italian maison Marni, presented the women’s collection for Autumn-Winter 2020/21, bringing a patchwork of fabrics, colours and cultural references to the catwalk. From two or three-piece sets to clothes with metal embellishments, the style as eccentric as ironic and playful of Marni and its proposal won us over again. Among the models who embodied the vision of the Genoese designer, stealing the spotlight was British muse and creative Jess Maybury. She walked down the catwalk wearing a cascade of glitters, a dress with square neck and a pair of 90’s style sneakers. As to accessories, dominating was white round frame sunglasses, big velvet bags with rigid handles and original sneakers with oversized sole, furs and pearls. Through this new proposal, Risso seems to want to address the increasingly frequent interpenetration of past, present and future, creating a contrast between the garments, the models’ beauty look and the location’s setting.

The style as eccentric as ironic and playful of Marni and its proposal won us over again.
