Gian Maria Sainato

Gian Maria Sainato is a content creator with a fan base of around 550K followers. We at thecorner.com caught up with him and learned some secrets and tips on life as an influencer.

Hi Gian, tell us a bit about yourself and how your passion for the world of social media came about?

I'm Gian Maria Sainato, I'm 27 years old and I have lived in Milan for 9 years, precisely since I started working as a model. It was from there, and especially from a city like Milan, that my passion for fashion began. At the same time, I began my fashion blog, which then gradually with the evolution of social media moved to Instagram. Where I still continue to nurture my passion as a content creator after years, which has now become my main job.

In fashion there's only present and future. And when the the past represents itself its always different and never the same

You always have absolutely cool and original looks, how do you choose what to wear?

I definitely refer to trends, but mostly (and a lot) I draw inspiration from the editorials of my favourite fashion magazines.

You always seem to be at ease in front of the camera. How do you prepare for a shoot?

Before a shoot I sleep 10 hours, it's important that my face and eyes are completely relaxed and rested. I take a cold shower before going to the shoot and completely clean face and hair (no creams, no gel, no make-up). A professional and calm team is important to make me feel comfortable on set. After years and many shoots I stand in front of the camera very naturally, and this is important for working well.

Are you someone who likes to follow fashion trends, or do you prefer to follow your own style? If you follow trends, is there one from this season that you particularly love?

I have my own style for sure but I love following trends, I find it fascinating to change my style every 6 months or so and play by customising my looks. Of course, as a influencer we've to follow the trends a bit, otherwise we get left behind and in fashion there's only present and future. Do you have a motto or phrase for good luck?

"If you persist and endure you achieve and conquer."

You hold a fan base of 554k followers. What's your relationship with them? What was the nicest compliment you've received?
I've a beautiful relationship with the people who follow me, for me they're virtual friends, not numbers. I always reply to messages and comments (within limit, when there's still so many I can't) and I like to confront ones even when we've different opinions. Very often I'm told and hear that 'he replies', finding this very courteous, polite and respectful. These are the compliments that give me the most pleasure.

Projects for the future?

Several, still in fashion, but I'm also starting to think about the business side, in a serious and strong way. I aspire, as I think everyone does, to aim high and I hope that my determination, professionalism and creativity will help me in this, I never stop dreaming.
